People Place
A part of Lutheran Services in Iowa, People Place is on the second floor educational wing of the UCC church. People Place provides support groups for new parents, parents of children with special needs, parents of preschoolers and parents of children with attention deficit disorder. The center also provides the Parent as Teachers in-home visitation program which includes workshops on topics such as early literacy, healthy development, positive discipline and family communication. Parents can visit on drop-in days to play with their child, do a parent activity or use the library while their child is cared for in the play room.  (515) 233-1677 or peopleplace@lsiowa.org

Each Advent, the congregation has an Angel Tree with requests from several families selected by staff at People Place. Select one or more tags, go shopping and bring wrapped gifts back to the church for the People Place staff to distribute.

Farm to Folk Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
Farm to Folk (F2F) connects farmers using sustainable methods of agriculture with greater Ames area consumers seeking fresh, nutritious, locally grown farm products. F2F works to build strong, cooperative relationships between and among producers and consumers to provide a fair income for local producers while meeting the food needs of local consumers. The CSA also educates the surrounding community about farm and food issues. The producers distribute out of the UCC kitchen and Fellowship Hall each Tuesday from 3-7 p.m.

Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous
NA meets in the UCC Fellowship Hall Monday and Thursday at 7 p.m.
AA meets in Fellowship Hall each Friday at 7:30 p.m.
