Creation Justice

We provide information related to international events that are connected to the greater UCC mission as well as specifically to Ames UCC, and other events of social justice importance. In this way, we seek to provide a way for members to join with people everywhere to address issues of concern for God's creation.
Ames UCC Green Team 
  • Rummage Rampage (Friday, July 25th - Saturday, August 2nd, 2025): The City of Ames, in partnership with the Iowa State University Office of Sustainability, annually hosts "Rummage RAMPage", a community sale designed to keep reusable items out of the waste stream/landfill and repurpose items left on the curb during the annual lease change/move-out cycle in August.
  • Cardboard Recycling: Information on the types of cardboard that is recyclable and location(s) to drop them off.
  • Glass Recycling: Information on the types of glass that is recyclable and location(s) to drop them off.
  • Plastic Bags & Plastic Containers -- Donate reusable bags for The Bridge Home & plastic containers for Food at First
  • Crayon Initiative (Recycling): Drop off your old/broken or unused crayons at one of the designated drop-off locations. They are recycled and turned into new crayons for donation to children's hospitals.
  • City of Ames Rebate Programs: Forms and information regarding native landscaping, rain barrel, composting, and other rebate programs.
